About Us

Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club

The Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club’s core mission is to promote the art & science of radio communication through club sponsored training and field activities. Imbedded in our mission is the spirit of community service. CIARC provides communications services to many local community, sporting and competition events throughout the year. CIARC members and our repeater network are part of the statewide Idaho Amateur Radio Emergency Service.

The Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club (CIARC) has a long tradition of serving our community and promoting amateur radio. The club was founded in 1982 as the Central Idaho Amateurs–or CIA. In 1995 the name changed to the Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club.

The CIARC has an annual membership of about 35 licensed amateurs of all classes, including 12 Life Members. The club is a welcoming group that encourages hams of all levels of experience to join and participate in club events. Our unique study and FCC license examination program has been successfully completed by over 90 new hams.
